BIKE ACTION DAYS IN SÖLDEN, AUSTRIA
Sölden is not only a highlight in the winter, it is definitely worth to visit the place during summer as there is a lot of action, beauty and happiness going on.
Sölden is the largest district of Austria and the village is located on 1368 m above sea level. The well known ski resort is part of the Ötztal valley and is one of the most famous tourism areas of Tirol. In this area there are two glaciers called Rettenbach and Tiefenbach Gletscher which are part of the Ötztal Alps.
My friend Claudia and I arrived on a sunny afternoon at the Hotel Central. It was the first visit for me in the beautiful place, we got a warm welcome from Monika and Michael who joint us for some bike adventure the next days. Monika and Michael invited us to have dinner with them, which honestly was one of the most delicious dinner I ever had. To add on, it was also one of the most creative dinner presentations i ever had. What an amazing team of chefs who love what they do, because they put so much passion and emotions into their courts. Simply, sensational.
Hotel Das Central
During the stay at Hotel Das Central, I had time to relax, focus on my soul and mind, but also got the option to fully enjoy delicious food made out of local ingredients. As I mentioned before the dinner we had the first night has been amazing. So much creativity, the chefs put into every dish. Therefore I wanted to share some of the art they created to you. One of my personal highlight was the self made arolla pine (Zirben) Gin which was tasting wonderful.

Bike Republic Sölden – Epic Downhill Fun
My personal action highlight was the Bike Republic Sölden, which is one of the longest and steepest parks. I have been biking on a nice Downhill orientated Focus bike, which was good for my level of biking. Before I started I got a so called Bike Republic Sölden Passport to become a citizen of the park. During the two days of biking I collected 7 out of 23 stamps from different runs I did. My most favourite run was the so called OLLWEITE LINE which started basically from the top of the mountain all the way down to the village including a beautiful scenery of the Rettenbach glacier.
007 Elements and IceQ
I have been skiing in Sölden and the area for many times but it was the first time ever for me that I finally made it to the 007 Elements and ICEQ. I was simply impressed. First the scenery from there is amazing, you even can find a lake which looks like a heart. The 007 presentation and the museum is a must see when in Sölden. The ICEQ is a place perfect for having great food and drinks. They offer you a special wine menu which provides perfectly selected wines. I realised that the quality and sensitive selected food and drink menu is something they really aim for the be the best. Which I really appreciated as I like perfect quality for food and drinks.
It was the first time this year I made it to AREA 47 and to raft the river called Inn. Its something I do like especially when the weather is above 30 degrees, the rafting tour is a great refreshment. Furthermore if you are a punch of fun people, this is the thing you should do. It is pure pleasure and everyone can do it. Claudia, Heidi, Michael and the rest of the crew were joking around and could not stop laughing anymore. Definitely how to end such a fun trip.
