Join RiseandFall 2019 – it is worth!
First I want to share my personal experience being part of the RiseandFall 2018 family.
Last weekend I have been part of the RISE AND FALL 2018 event. First of all I had a fabulous time as I met old friends and the competition has been tough for all the athletes. Lots of emotions and epic moments were responsible for an amazing day. This is it 2018. It’s history. Extreme Sports with passion. Did you ever thought about Extreme Sports can be a passionate thing? Well, I understood it after I have seen this.
Have you ever heard about it? Do you know what RISE AND FALL means? I guess you are aware of the beautiful village called Mayrhofen, Zillertal in Tirol, Austria. Right. That’s awesome then. 🙂
It is one of the most spectacular sports events I have ever seen. The competition is different than usual as 4 athletes from different sports disciplines want to gain the best result as a team. Ski touring, Paragliding, Mountainbiking and Alpine Skiing – are all extreme sports by itself and when you think about combining them – is this even possible? Well, it is, great athletes, professionals, passionate sports athletes and fun teams all had the best time together. That’s what it’s all about – about having a good time and sharing those moments with like-minded people.
Teams of 4 have to deliver their best physical performance in a short time to be able to compete against all those amazing athletes. Skitouring starts, climbing 430 vertical meters uphill, then the paraglider starts flying all the way down, the amazing speed they build up while flying towards the event area where mountain bikers were ready to cycle uphill again. Skiing down is the last part of the event.
Lots of emotions came up while watching the fight of each individual athlete. While being a passionate sports athlete, it is important to focus on mental strength and motivation. Behind the finish line emotions, reliefs, happiness and pure trust were build up from all those exhausted athletes. Teams were hugging each other, smiling and dancing, fabulous moments to capture and just to enjoy. The audience felt the senses and emotions the athletes and teams came up with.
Outdoor Guiding Days @ RISE AND FALL 2018
As it has been the first time ever for me that I visited the event, I wanted to know exactly what kind of extensive preparation those athletes do before the race day. Therefore I joined the Outdoor Guiding Days. I booked the technical training day for the discipline Alpine Skiing. It would have been possible to join either the ski touring, paragliding or mountain biking clinic. As an ambitioned ex-ski racer, I chose to improve my ski skills.
Friday, 8.30 am we met up in front of the Penken cable car in Mayrhofen, Zillertal. A lot of ambitioned skiers joined the event. We basically skied the entire day, got great tips from Christoph Dreier, who is a former professional Austrian Ski Racer.
Felix Wiemers, Freeride Pro and I got super relevant tips from Christoph and Felix actually had the chance to test it right at the Event of the RISEANDFALL as he was competing for a team. How it went for me – click here to see the results.
I did those GIF’s as I thought its super fun to watch them. Thanks to the event team, athletes and everyone who has been there. 🙂 Pictures are all taken by myself. Hope you enjoyed it and I super excited to meet you all next year at the RISEANDFALL 2019.
