Great company, amazing scenery, ski touring – what else?

When I was arriving at home last weekend the peaks were covered by snow. I thought this is terrific. It made me reflect on a great winter season, where I spent most of the time at my home resort St Anton am Arlberg.
A special moment for me was for sure when I met Sandro, he has been the winner of the Give Away I did on Instagram during the winter season. It was mid of April when Sandro was checking in at the Sonnbichl Hotel in St Anton. The owner Babsi, she is a very close friend of mine and super lovely and very passionate of what she is doing for her guests, was providing a cozy room for Sandro, who spent hours in the car just to get to Tirol.
We met early in the morning for having breakfast together at Sonnbichl Hotel. He slept quite well he mentioned. The sun was shining, ready to ski. We took our ski touring equipment. It was the first ski tour ever for Sandro. We made our way all the way to the top of Schindler, enjoyed the perfectly prepared firn piste as a warm-up run and made our way to Stuben. We decided to hike to the top of Peischlkopf and Wirth, which faces towards St Christoph am Arlberg, skied down towards Verwall. The weather was beautiful and we agreed on to make our way all the way up towards Roßfallscharte. Again we had a great run down towards the valley. The corn snow was just perfect to fully enjoy.
I was impressed by the open-minded and very well engaged personality I have met during the day. He got very interested in how ski touring works and he for sure worked hard to get to the top. I also felt really engaged by the fact that I had a great day out in the mountains. I was not only impressed by the beautiful weather but also how people can become friends through passionate sports.
For sure beer and burger were well deserved after a long ski touring day. We got tanned – GOGGLE FACE.
SKI AREA – St Anton am Arlberg – why? because I have been skiing many places all over the world, but home is the best – it’s not only the skiing but also the lovely traditional background, growth and culture is what inspires me every time I ski at home. How do you feel about it? Let me know.
Looking forward to the upcoming winter season. If someone is going to be at the Arlberg then shout out towards me. Guide bookings – first come first serve 😀
