The sensational love for Stockholm, which is also known as the Venice of the North. My dream to live in Stockholm came true and I have been staying there for about 1, 5 years. A time which has been key for my personal growth.
I guess you are wondering why the place makes it so special for me? I reviewed that question and I really have to say my friends I made but also the extraordinary feeling I get when walking through the streets of Stockholm or on the waterfront are responsible for my love for Stockholm. It’s small but big enough to run around and to find cute little places to hang out at.
Extraordinary moment! One afternoon I was running around Södermalm and made my way up to the Skinnarviksberget where I saw the moon that close and big as I never have been expecting to see it. Such an insane and epic moment, I shared this experience with a friend. The moon has been coloured beautifully red and you could see the surface very clear. Silence. A moment I used to really enjoy the here and now. Not thinking of anything that could happen in the future or any problems which might occur. Taking a deep breath, enjoying every single minute and accepting the present.
Living in Stockholm has been very exciting for me, I have been moving to three different apartments and made my way up from the suburb towards the fanciest area called Östermalm. I have to say, every area had its own character and I am thankful that I could explore different ones. Living in the centre was just perfect for me, as beside working I really could focus on my sports activities, so I did quite a lot of running and yoga around Djurgården, Kungsholmen and Södermalm.
Gamla Stan is the so-called old town and has a special flair. Its usually packed with tourists and I think the tight streets and the little shops everywhere makes it so special. For sure the water around makes it even more unique. I liked walking around Gamla Stan the most just before sunset as the sunlight was dancing in between the streets, indulge. A punch of girls tried to meet up every Monday to enjoy dinner together. What an engagement, so much love and trust. Felt good. Felt welcomed and home.
I always had the feeling Stockholm is my home, I felt welcomed from the first minute I arrived.
The best rooftop view with a relaxing touchpoint #downtowncamper
My personal highlight beside on savouring the delicious local specialities and the simple good time I had every day, I booked myself a weekend at the Downtown Camper to fully relax. I definitely can recommend if not staying in the hotel to enjoy the breakfast or the dinner at the hotel. It’s an open fireplace where they serve quality food. Delicious especially when loving meat. 🙂 My friend Ella and I had a lovely dinner, we got served by a friendly Swedish waiter who has been living in Spain for a while. He detailed every dish they were offering. He suggested us due to our flavours delicious wine and food.
My sweet tooth
As my friends know I do love breakfast, it’s my favourite dish a day and I could say I am almost addicted to freshly made bread, eggs and avocado, cereals, fresh juices and some yummy Kanelbulle and/or chocolate balls as a dessert for breakfast. For those who don’t know what a Kanelbulle is – its a cinnamon bun made in Sweden. Unique. I felt totally in love with the so-called Nest, it’s on the 9th floor of the hotel, its a private area for guests where you can enjoy breakfast with a great view over Stockholm. During the evenings they serve great cocktails, made by Anton, he has been living in St Anton for a while, so it was quite fun to listen to old stories from home.
The most relaxing spot
I have been staying at the hotel for two nights and my personal highlight was definitely the spa. What a place. Enjoying an outdoor pool with the most beautiful view over Stockholm. The sauna and the relaxing area where just perfect for my stay. I could not get enough from the beautiful view and the silence. Taking time off was really needed from all the business what is going on. I simply explored the sauna, drunk tea and had finally time to think about my personal thoughts and what my needs are.
It’s the secret spot, for sure. I am so thankful that I found that place. 😀 Thanks to Kristian, he is the lifestyle manager and totally makes the best out of this place. They offer lots of different attractions and events such as Art Flow. What a great time I had drawn my mind. Good, I did it.
Reflection towards my Stockholm experience
I definitely enjoyed the time in Stockholm, I am thankful that I joint the best school in the digital world. I am delighted by all the great people I met and who I can call my friends. My time there, the different and amazing experiences I made are definitely responsible for my personal growth. I know my values and what I believe in. I am still excited to explore more and learn more about myself and the world.
Let’s see what’s next.
